This past week I had the pleasure of working as a special contributor for The Daily Meal developing recipes for homemade Kit Kats and pop rocks.
Making Halloween candy is a fun project to do with friends and I would imagine kids would absolutely love it! I mentioned to a friend, Ashley, I was working on this project and she helped me hunt down the ingredients (see note about citric acid) and find the equipment, which required knocking on several neighbors’ doors to find a candy thermometer after realizing I forgot to bring mine home from pastry class! Oops…awkward, thanks guys in 9H! Anyways, we had so much fun making…and eating the candy!
* For the pop rocks recipe, the citric acid can be found at baking supply stores and at Indian Markets. In NYC I found it at New York Baking Company, 22nd St. and 6th Ave. and at Little India, 28th St. and Lexington.
